*picture coming soon*
In the aftermath of my issues yesterday I have endured; 2 different emergency rooms (a combined wait time of 10.5 hours), an IV, an EKG, cat scan of my heart, blood work, chest x-rays and numerous freak outs..the details below.
Oh my what a day it's been I tell ya! Yesterday I went into one emergency room due to my back pain moving to sharp chest pain and waited 3 hours in the waiting room to not even be seen. What a joke, so we bailed. Obviously if they weren't concerned that I was having heart issues, then either was I LOL! It was so ridiculous so we left! I was starting to feel somewhat better sitting there so long anyway!
Today I thought I was better, boy was I wrong. So off to the other emergency room in the area. I got triaged and had the EKG, X-rays and blood work done then was sent yet again to wait. What is the deal I mean really? So finally after another wait, this one was close to 5 hours I got to finally see a stinking DR. When he came in he said per my chest X-rays he was concerned about a spot he had seen on my heart. *insert instant freak out here* They want to do a cat scan to make sure there is not a blood clot or blockage *insert freak out #2 here* Then we wait yet again for the scan. This is where they go wrong LOL They tell you this and then you have to wait and process thoughts! I had so many of them running through my head it wasn't even funny. Then the scan person comes in and explains everything that is going to go on, how the test is done, the effects and all that good stuff. Go and get the test..*insert yet another freak out* as he starts talking on how it's best for DR's to be completely honest with their patients in order to create a plan for the best treatment. *INSERT MAJOR FREAK OUT HERE* So from this point in my mind I am not going home and OMG I don't have insurance, can we say in medical debt LOL! So yet again it's back to waiting for the DR to come in and give me the news. *go ahead and add about 4 more freak outs* lol lol! This whole time my poor sweetie is worn out from work, tired and starving but so supportive. He makes a comment on how he thinks it's just a pinched nerve and the DR will come in and say that is what it is and here are some painkillers. About 1.5 hours later finally he walks into the room and then I hear it.."Well good news, there is nothing wrong with your heart, but you do have a pulled muscle in your chest, I prescribed you with some good pain killers to help" My reaction..laughter and lots of it. My mind flashed back to the hell I have gone through the past few days, then the comment that Dustin made like 10 minutes prior. Thank the Lord above that nothing was wrong with my heart. Needless to say the laughter reaction did not fair to well with the DR and he turned and literally walked out of my room. (hey he laughed at me when I said that I got hurt sweeping of all things, so it was only fair for me right?) Phew what an experience that was I tell you! No heart issues like I had thought, though I have a feeling once I get that bill it will be a whole different story! Like they say though, it's better to be safe than sorry! So that is my story, I do not think I have ever written this much in this blog.
